Hello!
We had another exciting session this week! For the first half, we focused on consistency drills and games for the forehand and volley. The students learned about shot placement and basic strategy through some fun challenges. We're definitely getting to see more consistent shots, closer to the net. We ended the first half off with some competitive King of the Court games!
In second half, we introduced the second most critical shot in tennis (after the serve)--the backhand. The students worked on some drills to learn the correct technique, as well as how to switch from forehand to backhand grip.
One of the things which we want to introduce to our students is doubles match play. When in high school, a lot of our players will be playing doubles for their school team. It is important that they know the scoring rules, and general positioning for doubles games! We tried a few practice games for our intermediate players, which the kids really enjoyed!
Overall, all of the students are playing very well! At home, the students need to practice their forehand and backhand form with a partner, or drop feeding the ball by themselves. It's important that they hit slowly while focusing on their technique. They can also grab a partner and rally with them on a court!
Thanks for reading, see you next week! 🎾🎾🎾
